Steph Barry is an insightful growth advisor who helps executives craft solutions to complex global business problems. Speaking four languages and having lived and worked in every region of the world, she has delivered multi-million dollar revenue growth and double-digit profitability improvement with global industrial manufacturing and consumer goods industries. Over the last 25 years, she has had direct P&L responsibility for consumer product, business-to-business, franchise, and family-owned entities between $2M and $300M. From gaining market share through innovation, improving lead generation, outpacing local competition, adapting market entry strategy, restructuring the supply chain, removing regulatory roadblocks, to setting a foundation for corporate responsibility, Steph’s expertise is knowing which growth levers to pull and when. 

A motivation to other board members, Steph currently serves as the Co-chair of the Trustee Affairs Committee at the Fleet Science Center, connecting San Diego to the power of science. “A pleasure to work with”, she has brought energy and actionable processes to her work producing concrete results in trustee giving and new memberships. As chairman of the board for the subsidiary of a public company, Steph led board decision-making and drove governance to meet local requirements. As CEO of the Alumni Association and chairman of the alumni board at UC San Diego, Steph restructured the board committees to be more effective, oversaw the board governance, nomination and audit.

Currently, Steph is President of her consulting company, Steph Barry Inc, using a multi-levered approach to give owners and executives of small, forward-looking businesses the road map to achieve significant growth. Recently, she was Senior Vice President, CRC Industries, providing strategic commercial and marketing leadership and sustaining long-term profitable sales growth, developing a unified healthy culture and regaining deep customer loyalty - during the pandemic. As Managing Director, Global Markets and Vice President, Franchise Development at Solatube International, a private, family-owned, building material, manufacturing company. she integrated global market acquisition, oversaw all business outside of North America, and prepared the company to launch a franchise network in the United States.

At WD-40 Company, Steph held domestic and international senior executive leadership roles with multiple expat assignments. Steph formulated and executed the strategy to transform the mature, stagnant Australia business, achieving a 23% CAGR. Doubling revenue, she successfully transitioned the China business out of start up mode. Additionally, she developed the company’s first innovation process from concept to commercialization and launched 80% of product concepts, growing organic revenue 25% worldwide.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from University of California, San Diego and a Master of International Business from University of San Diego, she was named one of Business Week magazine’s top global innovators and was recently awarded a design patent.
